Melting Rainbows
Sky melting swimming in rainbows.
Talking to God isn't it so odd to be down without a clown.
To be in to be out when your word has no clout And at the world you look all with dismay
Cactus skin on the inside in When the air is itchy and you feel twitchy
You can't find a position that you feel comfort in.
When the colour black is such an attack
And you're so taken aback
Because you can't seem to get away.
When "reasonable" is just something you gargle
And swallow for no good reason at all.
When you've left your old "hood" because you're "no good"
And you don't fit there anymore.
When you can't see, Golly gee
Take another Ativan and swallow like a man
No way! Yes, you can. It will make you a better man
But you just feel tired because you're so wired
And you just can't fight anymore.
There is the good fight and the bad fight
And so far you've got both.
Confused? You lose.
When evil is staring and that music is blaring
And you can't just block it out anymore.
When you're hoping but just really joking
To leave this Earth and all it's worth.
When the molecules and particles
Just hem you in.
When all you hear is the beat of the stamping feet
And the shuffled hustle at your admission
Of kind of condition
That you're in and all around you is just a din
You can't fight or win.
Welcome Old Soul.
Come on in and you can win against sin
And the state you find yourself in.
You've won a ward you can afford
A home base no one can erase.
It's a resort of a sort. A last resort you see
And not quite one I would choose. But it chose me
Quite contrarily as it might be
So shimmy up for a bottle
Of trouble and strife.
You can't be sure that she ain't your wife
Though she may be dressed in white
And with all those strange new molecules and particles
Chasing each other in your blood.
All those white outfits look quite the same to me.
So when all your outfits are not fitting in
Welcome to the Inn of the Din Din Din.
It's the only place where you can fight
The condition you find yourself in and win.
So goodbye sin and welcome to "The Inn" you can come to
So long as you have no reservations.
September 13, 2003.
